The assignment The assignment for this week is to design and develop a plan of dissemination of my final project. The idea of my project is very related with my career, architecture. I have always wanted to give motion to my final models, and to investigate deeper on domotic and changeable architecture. Until this year, I was only capable of doing this virtually, but not physically. Some of my career partners have always wanted something simmilar, but had not the enough knowledges to develop it. The idea of my dissemination plan is to show the possibilities of interactive models in architecture, and just with some knowledges be able to introduce some movement or taking data from our architecture models. |
The dissemination plan Apart from the typical architecture models, I want to share my other FabLab techniques tutorials to if any people have greater idead than mine to develop better and futher. The philosophy of the FabLab is one of the best things that I have learnt throughout the course. I am very happy with this, and I feel very close to this philosophy, as I am a very self-taught person.
The plan has the following points of action 1. Show and encourage my partners the benefits of sharing the knowledge on the web. I know this very well because all I know of many different architecture and design software, I have learnt form YouTube videos and different websites tutorials. This is one of the most powerful fact of internet that is growing very fast, but still, we have to change people's mind in order to share and not to keep their knowledge to their own. 2. Open source programs are a consequence of the point 1. Many people try to create small and bigger programs for free, to solve some problems that any other paying software cannot. This point is very difficult to undertand: why give my work for free to others? But that is not exactly the point. The recognision of your work will always be there, but people may help you to develop more and more the wokr and try to reach further with your already work or your initial idea. 3. In direct relation with my Final Project, the idea is to keep working on it, develop more efficient models and try to solve any small mistake that may be in our first prototype. We do not have to forget, that is simply that, a prototype, that maybe in the 3rd or 4th attempt, it may start to look like a much better model and we can start to talk about marketing and comercialization. 4. The last point of dissemination, after many people have worked in the project and we have developed it until a good point, is to start advertising and comercializing it. At this point is important to skecth an idea to follow. My idea is to divide the project in different modules that may be comercialized separately, for example: - Retractable roof for Architecture models: "This roof is sold in 3 different louver sizes, and may work with two different mechanisms: rods and chain" - Photosensor: "This sensor is capable of detect different light waves, and writes data from 0 to 1023. It includes a parametric written code for each of the most common boards: FabDuino, ArduinoOne, Servo board AtTiny..." ... |
